But Gero turned enough to where only their tail ends were the only thing that made contact (which is what Syron narrowly avoided in the first panel). Syron had to brake, or get sandwiched. There really wasn't much else he could do since he's going top speed right now, and jumping over one of them would have just resulted in him getting slammed out of bounds by whoever he jumped over.

But as you can see, teamwork is temporary on the track...Gero will remember that (maybe XD )
